Cassette, Shimano 8 speed wide range

8 speed 11-34

Too bad these are black, not shiny silver, but this is the only Shimano brand wide range 8s cassette out there, beggars can't be choosers especially at this great price.

 

Aug 23, 2017 - Oh, neat!  Shimano now makes a fancier and prettier 8s 11-34 cassette in Silver, yay!  Silver one has a little different cog configuration than the black (see below); Silver has smoother transitions between the lower (bigger) cogs.

For the many multitudes of 8 speed riders out there, here's a new, cool, inexpensive super-wide range option: 11-40!!!  Use this cassette with a derailer such as the Acera M3020.

Shimano is going even wider and lower with this 11-45 8 speed cassette; amazing!

Please use this inexpensive and wide range cassette with the Essa RD.  This cassette is much lighter than you think (eventually insert weight here).
